Café & Farm Store
‘‘Love the freshly homemade food. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the owners treat you like family. Outside you can view the sheep, the chickens and the ducks. You have to visit just to experience this awesome place.’’ - Marion A.
‘‘We stopped at the Sheep Shop in Woodbury yesterday. We drive past occasionally on our way up north, and the girls always beg to stop. I'm so glad we did! Their shop is super charming, and their products are beautiful -herbal sheep milk soaps, scrubs, soaks, etc... I walked away with quite a haul. The experience and customer service were just as fab as the goods!’’ - Sophie R.
‘‘Wonderful visit. Took my 2 year old granddaughter. She loved interacting with the animals, owners and their children. She was able to pet, feed and hold animals. Many homemade items to purchase. We will be going back.’’ - Mary B.
‘‘I had a wonderful experience at the Sheep Shop. The shop owner was very pleasant to speak with and happy to answer all my questions I had regarding their products. I love natural Vermont made products and it's great to get them straight from the source. Added bonus getting to meet the sheep! Highly recommended!’’ - Jerrica G.
‘‘My friend Glee and I ventured through a snow squall to Woodbury with hope of finding a cozy refuge from our morning projects, and we were charmed by what we found at The Sheep Shop. Delicious tea and coffee drinks, and Gingerbread Tiramisu…oh my!!! Marcial was a gracious host and the café was warm and peaceful. There were locally made crafts throughout the shop, including soaps, pottery, mittens and slippers. It was a lovely, relaxing afternoon and I am looking forward to another visit soon.’’ - Cheryl F.
“Best Little gift shop in all of Vermont! We know the recipient will very much appreciate their lovely gifts, as history is our guide. THANK YOU for all of your hard work and creative spirit. You are a gift to our community and beyond.’’ - Ann Marie W.
‘‘My friend Cheryl and I visited December 12th, and had a lovely afternoon. The shop is quaint and cozy with local products and crafts. The proprietor, Marcial was gracious, friendly and let us meet one of their beautiful dogs. We came away from the visit with smiles, full bellies, stories, and some lovely products and gifts. (I recommend the gingerbread tiramisu if they have it!). It felt like visiting a friend. Do stop in!’’ - Glee R.
‘‘I've been eagerly awaiting the opening of the cafe on my drive to work every day and finally got to stop in. The Sheep Shop is one of those hidden gems that doesn't seem like much at first glance but absolutely makes for a wonderful experience and the highlight of the day. The customer service is some of the best I've experienced in Vermont, with a big selection of soaps, scrubs, chocolates and other local business items to browse while waiting. The cafe has a very laid back atmosphere with a simple aesthetic, and the music was charming. I ordered a basic latte and a slice of sheep milk salted caramel cheesecake. The cheesecake was creamy and so packed with flavor, while the coffee was mild and delicious so it paired well. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, compared to the prices. I ended up hanging around to chat with Mars and picked up a bar of the Lemon Yarrow soap that's made and sold there. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to my next trip.’’ - Sarah
“Have passed this place on my way to work in Montpelier for years; so sorry I didn't stop sooner! Besides the incredibly delightful interior replete with art, pottery, herbs, fragrances, bath delights, and a smattering of antiques and uniques is the warm and inviting hospitality of the owners. The gelato - introduction to ojoche - was silky smooth with a coffee-mocha taste! They were out of the sausages but definitely will return - because the sheep milk sugar scrub is an extraordinarily fantastic scrub! I got the Rose Hibiscus; a little goes a long way (and it's not that cheap easily dissolves type of scrub)! Plus - the fragrance! And - the best part; my skin had that soft, moisturized smooth feel all through the next day and days later! Great price for outstanding quality products. ♥ this place!” - Victoria H.
“Wonderful place with wonderful people!! Amazing homemade food and soap. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.” - Bethany R.
‘‘Terrific store AND salesmanship! I'll be back again and again!’’ - Jim S.
Handcrafted Sheep Goods
‘‘I ordered the yarrow lemongrass sheep milk soap for my husband who has been suffering with dry skin over the winter. Which by the way comes beautifully packaged. I am happy to report it is helping him!!! May I add the soap smells wonderful as well!! What a pleasure it was ordering with Sheepshop. Not only were they helpful in choosing the right soap but they were a pleasure to do business with. Delivery was quick. I will be reordering from them again. Not only do we feel like we found a great new product but we feel as though we made new friends!!!’’ - Debora G.
‘‘Once again, I am blown out of the water with their latest product, the dryer balls. I had them customize the colors and they are perfect. The packaging of the order is always done with the most care and little touches; along with a personal note makes this and every order very special. They are very customer centric. Thank you so much!’’ - Kathleen F.
‘‘What a beautiful gift the Sheep Shop put together for me for my sick friend. I especially appreciated their communication with me including sending pictures of my finished product prior to their sending, and their quick turn around. They did a first class job and were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them and their products.’’ - Jodie G.
‘‘I am new to Sheep Shop but after using their Sheep Milk Sugar Scrub - Autumn Spice, I am SOLD!’’ - Kathy T.
‘‘I am beyond happy with these amazingly adorable sheep coasters. The craftsmanship is outstanding. The quality wood is so beautiful. I love everything about the Sheep Shop right down to the packaging!!! Always a pleasure to order from the Sheep Shop.’’ - Debora G.
‘‘I just received a beautiful array of Sheep Shop products as a birthday gift: cinnamon bath soak, English lavender bath bombs, tangerine calendula bath soak, and rose hibiscus sugar scrub. My FAVE is the sugar scrub but I soaked with the cinnamon bath soak earlier and it was amazing. I was shocked how smooth my skin was after! Please do yourself or someone else a favor and purchase any of the Sheep Shop amazing products.’’ - Heather W.
“I recently received my dryer balls and they work so well that I'm thrilled and will be telling all my friends about them. Most importantly, both the packaging and the personal note were the sweetest part -- it made me feel like it was a present. Thank you for sharing your love and commitment through your beautiful products.” - Kathy P.
‘‘I ordered the lavender soap. It smells like lavender not like musky lavender smell some soaps have. The soap was packaged well and they sent a personalized note. Felt really great to know I'm supporting a small business. And the little mint small gift soap that was sent smells fantastic. Will be ordering again for sure.’’ - Lacy A.
RV Stays
‘‘This was hands down our best RV stay after almost a year of travel. The hosts treat you, and everyone who stops by, as family. Definitely try the baked goods and coffee. Everything thing is homemade and fresh.’’ - Heather C.
‘‘We’ve been Harvest Host members for quite a few years now and this might have been the friendliest most accommodating hosts we’ve met so far. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our conversations. The cafe and shop is lovely and the food and drink excellent.’’ - Patricia O.
‘‘Marie-Helene & Marcial are so warm & welcoming -we were treated like family from the moment we arrived. They are very eager to please and they truly want their guests to be happy. They make delicious coffees, serve fresh baked goods made by Marie’s sister, and sell yummy smelling bath products made with sheep’s milk. We had great conversations with both Marie & Marcial. They are very interesting & love meeting people. There is a steady steam of locals stopping by their shop for coffee & conversation. The parking is in their driveway & level. They are easy to find. Best suited for class B & Smaller class C rigs. Definitely recommend staying here if passing through this area of VT.’’ - Lynn & John C.
‘‘Mars welcomed us upon arrival. Very friendly and quite interesting to talk with. We met Marie-Helene the next morning and had delicious coffee and fresh baked goods for breakfast in their very cozy shop. Definitely recommend staying here if passing through this area of Vermont.’’ - John W.
‘‘It was a very warm and inviting stay. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the lattes, conversation and view.’’ Christopher F.
‘‘This location is run by an animal friendly, very hard working family. The animals are their priority and are treated like family. We fell in love with their 2 beautiful & friendly dogs, Hope & Joy. The hospitality we experienced during our visit was second to none-the feel was like outdoor animal immersion complete with chatty sheep, adventurous chickens, and a cat with attitude, but indoors was a sensory cafe experience with an exceptional latte, delicious cake, a light spa-like aroma of bath products, as well as ear candy of classical music. The transition from outside to inside their peaceful shop & cafe was something to experience! We will definitely return one day on our way through VT. Thanks for the awesome hospitality!!!’’ - Elizabeth A.
‘‘Lovely little coffee and pastry shop and nice soaps and gifts. The view of the VT church from the parking spot is iconic.’’ - Jill B.
‘‘Here are some poems we wrote while staying at the Sheep Shop:
Kind coffeemaker
Tailors drinks to their drinkers
Measures sweet and spice
A cat aptly named
Orange as the setting sun
Love for all - but for dogs? none
Little mountain town
Sunday morning church bells chime
Singing songs of peace
Incredibly kind people with the sweetest animals you’ll ever meet! Amazing coffee and tea. Very accommodating and helpful. Easy to find and good wifi if you need it. Make sure to see the lambs. We miss Orange the cat and Hope and Joy the dogs every day! Our favorite Harvest Host yet, would definitely stay again!’’ - Sam H.
