FARM EXPERIENCE #1: WOOLLY FUN AT THE SHEEP SHOP 🐑 🐑 🐑
Upon arrival at the Sheep Shop, you will have the opportunity to feed our small herd of East Friesian sheep, and greet Hope and Joy, our shepherd dogs. We will discuss the breed of sheep we keep at the Sheep Shop and the different ways we use their milk and wool to handcraft our sheep goods. We will demonstrate our unique process of making one of our products, the sheep wool dryer balls, which are handcrafted from raw fleece and roving. You will then have a chance to try your hand at needle felting a design of your choice on one of our sheep wool dryer balls and bring it back home with you. We will end the visit with a complementary fine pastry and tea or coffee at the Sheep Shop Café.
MEET YOUR FARM EXPERIENCE HOST
My name is Marcial and I am a former paramedic from The Big Apple turned Vermont sheep farmer. My love for sheep runs deep and I have a passion for sustainability. I enjoy combining both by raising a small herd of East Friesian sheep and by handcrafting eco-friendly sheep products for our shop. I started making sheep wool dryer balls out of our raw fleece many years ago and I am excited to share my knowledge and skills with you. This unique experience will be multi-sensory, from feeding the sheep, needle felting a sheep wool dryer ball, to indulging in a complementary fine pastry at the Sheep Shop Café. My hope is that you will leave this experience with a full heart and a deeper connection with nature and sheep.
